Karrenbauer Integrative Family Medicine (KIFM) is a Direct Care practice. Patients do not need to have insurance to become members of our practice. Rather, our practice works directly with the patient to provide comprehensive, personalized, physician accessible, and affordable health care. Our services are integrative, taking into consideration of all factors that influence health, wellness and disease. The patient and practitioner are partners in the healing process. Our care addresses the whole person and is individualized to best address the person’s unique conditions, needs and circumstances. We use all appropriate healing sciences to facilitate the body’s innate healing process. Alongside the concept of treatment, the concepts of health promotion and prevention of illness are paramount.
We charge a monthly fee, a subscription, for our services and often complements a patient's high deductible plan.Learn More
Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is a model of healthcare that puts patients first by getting rid of the inefficiencies by which most other traditional practices are restricted. Patients should still have a wraparound insurance plan that would cover emergency care, hospitalization, complex procedures, and specialists.
The Direct Care model is a much more affordable payment system. It saves you money with healthcare spending by cutting out the middle man (insurance company). No third parties or fee for service billing to inflate costs.Read More
There are no co-pays for regular office visits or routine annual physicals. The model offers convenience by allowing you to avoid making multiple office visits and time lost from work or personal schedule by you sending questions and concerns directly to us via email and text, something you won’t get from a traditional practice.
We provide cost-saving measures on prescription medications, labs, and radiology services which have been pre-negotiated for you. Thus, the savings are passed on directly to you.
DPC is paired with a low-cost, high-deductible insurance plan. For most, such an arrangement is more affordable than traditional health insurance plan alone.Read More
